16S rRNA marker gene survey on spinach

Consumption of fresh produce is increasing; however, it has been implicated as a transmission vehicle in foodborne outbreaks. This study provides in-depth analyses of the diverse microbial communities on spinach, including metagenomic data on the dynamics of spinach microbiota during washing/packaging and storage processes, a step towards improved control of foodborne pathogens and spoilage.

新鲜农产品的消费量持续增长，但其被证实为食源性暴发事件的传播媒介。本研究针对菠菜表面的多样化微生物群落开展了深度分析，涵盖菠菜微生物群在清洗、包装及储存过程中动态变化的宏基因组（metagenomic）数据，为食源性致病菌与腐败问题的防控优化提供了支撑。
