Plasmodium vivax Targeted Locus (Loci)

Plasmodium vivax is the most widely distributed human malaria parasite with 2.9 billion people living in endemic areas. Despite intensive malaria control efforts, the proportion of cases attributed to P. vivax is increasing in many countries. We developed a multiplexed genotyping assay to assess the complexity of infection in P. vivax-infected individuals recruited in nine locations in Cambodia between 2004 and 2013 to provide insights to assess the efficacy of elimination programs and the spread of specific parasites.

间日疟原虫（Plasmodium vivax）是分布最为广泛的人类疟疾寄生虫，全球共有29亿人口生活在其流行疫区。尽管疟疾防控工作已投入大量资源，许多国家由间日疟原虫导致的病例占比仍在持续攀升。本研究开发了一种多重基因分型检测技术，用以分析2004年至2013年间在柬埔寨9个地区招募的间日疟原虫感染者的感染复杂程度，旨在为评估疟疾消除项目的实施效果以及特定寄生虫的传播态势提供科学依据。
