Core Microbiome of Creosote Feeding Neotoma

Investigating the core microbiome of two Neotoma species (Neotoma lepida and Neotoma bryanti) which have independently evolved to consume the same toxic diet. Both species consume creosote bush (Larrea tridentata), a highly toxic plant that exerts selective pressure on the gut microbiome. Samples include 16S rRNA sequencing and shotgun metagenomic sequences.

本研究针对两类独立演化出取食同一有毒日粮习性的林鼠属（Neotoma）物种——荒漠林鼠（Neotoma lepida）与布莱恩特林鼠（Neotoma bryanti）的核心微生物组（core microbiome）展开探究。两类物种均取食石炭酸灌木（Larrea tridentata），该植物为强毒性物种，可对肠道微生物组施加选择压力。本数据集的样本包含16S rRNA测序序列与鸟枪法宏基因组（shotgun metagenomic）测序序列。
