Lenta.ru was the news website with the largest audience in Russia in August 2021. Roughly 17.1 million Russians visited that portal at least once in that month. The second leading source was kp.ru. Several websites (such as Kp.ru, RBC.ru, or Iz.ru) belonged to brands of printed newspapers as these adjusted to the increasing internet penetration and the growing preference of the population to read news online.
