UNER TAN SYNDROME

<strong>"The Uner Tan syndrome is recently identified, and uniquely different neurological disorder" (Guertin, 2013). Actually, t</strong><strong>he first quadruped man was discovered in Turkey and described in Childs' book in 1917. Nearly 100 years later a consanguineous family with 19 children, 6 of them xhibiting a novel syndrome with habitual quadrupedal locomotion, mental retardation, and dysarthric speech with truncal ataxia was reported for the first time in the scientific literature and proposed as UNER TAN syndrome (Tan, 2005, 2006), which sparked a world-wide interest. Since then 8 more families with the syndrome were discovered in various parts of Turkey. </strong>

厄尔·坦综合征（Uner Tan syndrome）是近年被发现的一种独特的神经系统疾病（Guertin, 2013）。事实上，首例四足行走人类于1917年在土耳其被发现，并被记载于蔡尔兹（Childs）的著作中。时隔近百年后，学界首次在科学文献中报道了一个近亲婚配家族：该家族共育有19名子女，其中6名表现出一种新型综合征，核心特征为习惯性四足行走、智力发育障碍、构音障碍伴躯干共济失调；该综合征随后被命名为厄尔·坦综合征（Tan, 2005, 2006），由此引发了全球学界的广泛关注。自此之后，土耳其各地又陆续发现了8个存在该综合征的家族。
