弗洲指突水母对浮游动物的摄食具有选择性,单只水母对歪水蚤(Tortanus spp.)的摄食率平均为白天0.07 ind / h(1.6 ind / d),夜间0.04 ind / h(1.0 ind / d),其摄食率存在着昼夜差异;而水母基本不摄食短尾类溞状幼体(p > 0.05),这可能与饵料生物的体形、化学感受和行为等因素有关。水螅水母的无性繁殖(出芽生殖和碟状体释放)是决定其种群暴发规模的关键过程。本课题首次提出海月水母种群变动的“温度-饵料综合调控机制”:温度通过控制海月水母水螅体横裂过程的启动和停止,调节能量在出芽、横裂过程之间的分配。13°C时碟状体释放量最大,认为是海月水母横裂适宜温度。
The Virginia finger-jellyfish exhibits selective feeding on zooplankton. For a single individual, the feeding rate on *Tortanus* spp. averages 0.07 ind/h (1.6 ind/d) during daylight hours and 0.04 ind/h (1.0 ind/d) at night, displaying significant diel differences. Furthermore, this jellyfish hardly preys on brachyuran zoeae (p > 0.05), a pattern potentially linked to traits of the prey including body size, chemical sensing, and behavior. Asexual reproduction of hydromedusae, including budding and ephyra release, is the critical process governing the scale of their population outbreaks. This study for the first time proposes the "temperature-prey integrated regulatory mechanism" for the population dynamics of *Aurelia aurita*: temperature modulates the allocation of energy between budding and strobilation by controlling the initiation and cessation of strobilation in *Aurelia aurita* polyps. The maximum ephyra release occurs at 13°C, which is identified as the optimal temperature for strobilation in *Aurelia aurita*.
