Measuring tape was to only tool for this experiment; in addition, to a data sheet as shown in Wood-Distance excel sheet. The tape was used to measure the distance between a pair of adult trees. This process was applied for ten pairs of trees. Each pair was given a number and each tree in that pair was given either letters (a or b). After recording the distance, the circumference of each tree (a and b) was recorded by picturing the tree trunk as a circle and we are acquired to measure half of the exterior surface of that circle at a breast height of an individual. From the circumference, we were able to obtain on dbh (diameter at breast height) of each tree by using the OnlineConversion.com*. Further, the conditions of the sampled trees were recorded as 1 dead, 2 living, 3 healthy and big (explained more in the metadata). This research was done at York University in Danby Woods. The data was collected during the fall season of 2014.
