Whole-brain transcriptome sequencing to detect genes with divergent expression in P. feriarum (Upland Chorus frog). The species is a non-model organism in which avoidance of hybridization with other Pseudacris is accompanied by changes in reproductive behavior (reinforcement). Speciation by reinforcement is a model that has gained evidence in recent years. This data set was generated to explore potential genetic mechanisms by which changes in reproductive behavior occur in this system.

本研究采用全脑转录组测序技术,检测高原鸣蛙(Upland Chorus frog,P. feriarum)中存在差异表达的基因。该物种属于非模式生物,其在避免与其他拟蝗蛙属(Pseudacris)物种杂交的过程中,会伴随生殖行为的改变,即生殖强化(reinforcement)。生殖强化驱动的物种形成模型是近年来逐步获得研究证据支持的物种形成理论。本数据集的生成旨在探索该系统中生殖行为改变背后的潜在遗传机制。
