We identified eyespot-associated genes by comparing the transcriptomes of homologous micro-dissected wing tissues that either develop or do not develop eyespots in wild-type and a mutant line of butterflies, Spotty, with extra eyespots. In addition, we also identified transcription factors differentially expressed between adjacent wing sectors of the forewing, and differentially expressed genes between male and female eyespots.
本研究通过比对野生型及带有额外眼斑的蝴蝶突变品系Spotty中,分别发育眼斑与不发育眼斑的同源显微解剖翅组织的转录组,鉴定得到眼斑相关基因。此外,本研究还鉴定了前翅相邻翅区之间差异表达的转录因子,以及雌雄眼斑间差异表达的基因。
