Nearly all of the molecular studies to date on the phylogenetic relationships within Sinocyclocheilus have been based on mtDNA limiting some of the diversification-scale analyses as well as insights to population level processes shaping this remarkable radiation. With the advent of next generation sequencing, particularly highly efficient methods for recovering orthologous loci such as Restriction-site associated DNA sequencing, we are able to provide a more precise view of the relationships within Sinocyclocheilus, as well as its species limits and diversification timing events.

迄今为止,针对金线鲃属(Sinocyclocheilus)内系统发育关系的分子研究几乎均基于线粒体DNA(mitochondrial DNA, mtDNA)开展,这限制了部分分化尺度分析的推进,同时也制约了对塑造该类群显著演化辐射的种群水平过程的深入认知。随着下一代测序(next generation sequencing)技术的问世,尤其是用于获取直系同源位点的高效方法——如限制性酶切位点相关DNA测序(Restriction-site associated DNA sequencing)——我们得以更精准地解析金线鲃属内的系统发育关系,同时明确其物种界定与分化时间事件。
