Size-based prioritization in Network Utility Maximization and its applicability to decentralized elastic electricity demand scheduling

Internet communications and electricity consumption both require access to scarce resources while users expect them to occur without delays. This thesis proposes a common scheduling framework that aims at minimizing response time in both scenarios.
