Exploring spore-former subpopulation in chicken gut microbiota

In this study we characterize spore formers in the chicken gut using selective enrichment of spores followed by high throughput next generation sequencing. The results indicate that more diverse genera in chicken gut might have the ability to form spores than previously recognized.

本研究先通过孢子选择性富集培养，再结合高通量下一代测序技术，对鸡肠道内的产芽孢菌（spore formers）开展系统表征。研究结果显示，鸡肠道内具备芽孢形成能力的菌属多样性，远超此前学界的认知范围。
