Microtubule-associated serine/threonine kinase family member 4 (Mast4) knockout (KO) mice showed abnormal incisor development with weak hardness as the apical bud was reduced and preameloblasts were shifted to the apical side, resulting in Amelogenesis Imperfecta. Mast4 KO incisors showed abnormal enamel maturation, and stem cell maintenance was inhibited as amelogenesis accelerated. In addition, Mast4 KO testis showed reduced size and sperm number. KO testes also showed morphology of Sertoli-cell-only (SCO) syndrome. Both organs may have stem cell maintenance problem.Here we provide transcriptome seqeuncing data of incisors and testes from 6w old MAST 4 KO and WT mice. Samples for incisors were gathered from secretory ameloblast region and apical bud region separately.

微管相关丝氨酸/苏氨酸激酶家族成员4(Microtubule-associated serine/threonine kinase family member 4,简称Mast4)基因敲除(knockout,KO)小鼠表现出异常的切牙发育表型:其切牙硬度降低,同时牙尖芽萎缩、前成釉细胞向根尖侧移位,最终引发牙釉质发育不全(Amelogenesis Imperfecta)。Mast4基因敲除小鼠的切牙还存在釉质成熟异常的问题,且随着成釉过程加速,干细胞维持功能受到抑制。此外,Mast4基因敲除小鼠的睾丸体积减小、精子数量降低;敲除组睾丸还呈现出唯支持细胞(Sertoli-cell-only,SCO)综合征的组织形态特征。上述两种器官均可能存在干细胞维持异常的问题。 本数据集提供了6周龄(6w)Mast4基因敲除小鼠与野生型(wild type,WT)小鼠的切牙和睾丸转录组测序(transcriptome sequencing)数据。其中切牙样本分别采集自分泌性成釉细胞区域与牙尖芽区域。
