1767 gravestone Nether St Cyrus Old Kirkyard

Nether St Cyrus Churchyard, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. This is the site of Ecclesgreig (Ecclesia Cyrici - St Cyric's Church), dedicated 7th August 1242 and the parish church until 1632. St Cyrus is said to be buried in the churchyard. The gravestone to Isobel Duncan and her children reads: 'Here lyes the dwst of Isobel Duncan spouse to George Thomson sometime in grownd of Comestown who died 7th Decem 1765 aged 54 having four children viz John who died 14th Jwne 1753 aged 15 GT AT Iames Thomson s'.
