Laboratory adaptation in Acinetobacter baumannii strain AB09-003

Acinetobacter baumannii is an opportunistic bacterial pathogen that can become a persistent contaminant in the healthcare environment. However, after extended culture in the laboratory some strains of A. baumannii lose the ability to survive on dry surfaces. The goal of this project is to identify the genetic changes that occur in these drying-sensitive variants, which will provide a greater understanding of how these bacteria can survive in the clinical setting.

鲍曼不动杆菌（Acinetobacter baumannii）是一种机会致病性细菌病原体，可在医疗环境中成为持久性污染物。然而，在实验室经过长期培养后，部分鲍曼不动杆菌菌株会丧失在干燥表面存活的能力。本项目的目标是鉴定这些干燥敏感变异株中发生的遗传变化，从而增进对这类细菌如何在临床环境中存活的理解。
