Variable group, habitat and climate variables, positive or negative effects on selection, season (winter, spring, or summer), ecological hypotheses (Security + Thermal + Movement + Nutrition or Security + Nutrition), and number of parameters (K) are shown. North, South, or both refers to the distinct regions where radio-collared females occurred (see Fig 2). See S1 Table for a description of each habitat and climate variable and S2 Text for variable reduction and model selection steps.
