Cancer Microbiota and Effect of a Probiotic. gut metagenome

Cancer-bearing dogs receiving doxorubicin as part of their chemotherapy protocol were recruited to a randomized, double blinded, placebo controlled cross over trial to assess the effect of a probiotic preparation containing Enterococcus faecium NCIMB 10415 on the incidence and severity of acute chemotherapy-induced diarrhea and the gastrointestinal microbiota. Healthy dogs were recruited to assess the effects of the same probiotic preparation on the gastrointestinal microbiota.
