The Active Region Topology (ARTop) dataset was created by a research team from Durham University and the University of Glasgow, with the goal of improving the prediction accuracy of solar flares by analyzing the magnetic topology of solar active regions. This dataset contains time-series data of magnetic helicity and twist for 144 solar active regions, which were derived via SHARP data processing. The dataset construction process involved using the ARTop software to calculate the input rates of magnetic helicity and twist, and generate corresponding time-series and spatial distribution datasets. The primary application fields of this dataset are solar physics and space weather forecasting, where it aims to predict the occurrence of solar flares through magnetic topology analysis, thereby enhancing the early warning capability of space weather.
