List of Climate-Related Apocalyptic Predictions

This spreadsheet contains a list of 79 predictions of climate-related "apocalyptic" scenarios made by various public figures. This list is part of the raw data examined to investigate how the communication of extreme predictions is made and interpreted. Our research suggests that predictions made by scientists and nonscientists differ in meaningful ways, that the conservatism of the predictions has increased over time, and that the medium of communication does not appear to matter. This data was compiled from various online sources and internet search, with the URLs to the underlying sources provided in the spreadsheet.

The data was compiled by analyzing the text of the original sources. Data related to the speakers' birth year and background were obtained from public sources (Wikipedia, institutional biographies, etc).

本电子表格收录了79项由各界公众人士提出的、与气候相关的“末日”场景预测。该列表为本研究所用原始数据的一部分，用于探究极端气候预测的传播方式与解读逻辑。本研究表明，科学家与非科学家作出的气候预测在多个关键维度上存在显著差异；预测的保守程度随时间推移逐步提升；而传播媒介并未对预测特征产生显著影响。本数据集整合自各类在线资源与互联网检索结果，原始来源的URL已一并收录于本电子表格中。

本数据集通过分析原始来源文本完成编译。与预测发布者的出生年份及背景相关的数据，均取自维基百科（Wikipedia）、机构传记等公开渠道。
