Geographic Information Network of Alaska (GINA)

GINA supports the following University of Alaska projects. (1) Statewide Digital Mapping Initiative is a cooperative state program endorsed by the Governor and implemented by the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) and the University of Alaska (UA). GINA hosts the SDMI data services and provides access to the SDMI data archive. (2) The NSSI Catalog portal provides GIS data services and project tracking in support of the North Slope Science Initiative as a public service to Alaska, the Nation, and the Circumarctic region . (3) The UAS Spatial Data project is supporting datasets associated with cruise ship discharge, watershed delineation, glacial hydrology, and water-resources in Southeast Alaska. (4) The Alaska Volcano Observatory is provided realtime data for monitoring volcanic events. GINA holds a large inventory of satellite images and aerial photos, mostly over the State of Alaska. The majority of data is available online and can be freely downloaded. Data held or indexed by GINA can be accessed via several paths: i) Alaskan MODIS Images, ii) SwathViewer, iii) Alaska Mapped, iii) Landsat data for Alaska; and iv) Satellite Data Search. GINA also offers real-time reception, processing, and delivery of imagery and information products from a variety of polar-orbiting satellites.

(2) NSSI目录门户为北极斜坡科学倡议（North Slope Science Initiative）提供地理信息系统（Geographic Information System，GIS）数据服务与项目追踪功能，旨在为阿拉斯加州、全美及环北极地区提供公共服务。
(3) UAS空间数据项目正为阿拉斯加东南部的邮轮排污、流域划定、冰川水文及水资源相关研究提供配套数据集支撑。
(4) 阿拉斯加火山观测站（Alaska Volcano Observatory）可获取用于火山事件监测的实时数据。

GINA拥有海量卫星影像与航空摄影资料，其中绝大多数覆盖阿拉斯加州全域。绝大多数数据均可在线获取并免费下载。GINA托管或索引的数据可通过以下途径访问：i) 阿拉斯加中分辨率成像光谱仪（Moderate-resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer，MODIS）影像；ii) SwathViewer；iii) Alaska Mapped；iii) 阿拉斯加陆地卫星（Landsat）数据；iv) 卫星数据检索工具。此外，GINA还可接收、处理并分发来自各类极轨卫星的影像与信息产品。
