资源简介:

A total of 510 children between the ages of 3 and 15 were included in the data collection. The main inclusion criteria were a clinically suspected diagnosis of appendicitis and inpatient admission. Patients were divided into four groups: Observation (no surgery); Minimal changes (appendectomy, histologically only mild, often focal changes); phlegmonous appendicitis, and complicated appendicitis. The following variables were recorded: age (years) and sex; body temperature upon hospital admission (°C); length of hospital stay (LOS); C-reactive protein in the blood (mg/dL); hemoglobin (g/dL); hematocrit (%); white blood cell count (10^3/µL); neutrophils—absolute number and percentage, lymphocytes and monocytes (absolute number), platelets (10³/µL), and blood sodium. Data on the differential blood count were available for only a limited number of children (n = 287). The neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio, the lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio, and the platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio were also calculated. When using the data, please note that some columns are sorted, while others contain unsorted numbers. Therefore, only columns can be compared with one another. There is no horizontal connection between the individual rows.
