Combining geese tracking data and MODIS NDVI data, we demonstrated synchrony between goose breeding phenology and vegetation growing seasons: gosling hatching coincided with vegetation greening peak (Start of Season, SOS), autumn migration with vegetation yellowing peak (End of Season, EOS). We determined temporal and geographical variation in vegetation SOS, EOS and the Length of Season (LOS = EOS-SOS) as a proxy for gosling development windows across the MP.

我们结合鹅类追踪数据与中分辨率成像光谱仪归一化植被指数(MODIS NDVI)数据,证实了鹅类繁殖物候与植被生长季的同步性:雏鹅孵化期与植被返青峰值(生长季始期,Start of Season, SOS)相吻合,秋季迁徙则与植被枯黄峰值(生长季末期,End of Season, EOS)同步。本研究还测定了MP区域内植被生长季始期、末期及生长季长度(Length of Season, LOS = EOS-SOS)的时空变异特征,上述指标可作为雏鹅发育窗口的替代指标。
