This series consists of functional files created by the Department of Planning and Environment and its preceding and succeeding agencies. A large proportion of the files in this series relate to development applications for specific properties or local government areas and files related to Interim Development Orders [IDO] for specific properties. These files detail the proposed development, contain any rezoning documents related to the development, include correspondence with local councils and owners of the property and provide recommendations regarding the development put forward by the Department of Planning.Also included in the series are files related to local environmental planning schemes, special project planning files and files containing documents relating to the acquisition of land for purposes such as the creation of open space or road widening. In addition there are files containing records of open space surveys, files relating to the development of State Environmental Planning Policies and files relating to the development of historic properties.The files are arranged in annual single number order.
