Effect of 6 months of benralizumab on peripheral blood gene expression

Severe asthma is characterized by persistent and uncontrolled symptoms despite high-intensity treatment. Benralizumab, an anti-IL5 receptor alpha monoclonal antibody, improves asthma symptoms and enhances the quality of life in severe asthmatic patients. However, factors influencing treatment response are poorly understood. This prospective observational study investigates gene expression patterns associated with benralizumab response in severe asthma. Here we show whole blood gene expression of 15 patients before treatment and after 6 months of treatment with benralizumab.

重症哮喘的临床特征为接受高强度治疗后，症状仍持续存在且未得到有效控制。贝那利珠单抗（benralizumab）作为抗IL-5受体α单克隆抗体，可改善重症哮喘患者的哮喘症状并提升其生活质量。然而，目前学界对影响该治疗应答的相关因素仍知之甚少。本项前瞻性观察研究旨在探究重症哮喘患者中与贝那利珠单抗治疗应答相关的基因表达模式。本研究获取了15例患者接受贝那利珠单抗治疗前，以及接受6个月治疗后的全血基因表达数据。
