Crews climb aboard rafts just below Iron Gate Dam to begin the survey and end at the Shasta river confluence (a total of 21.2 km). </div><div><br /></div><div>The data collected from the field is used to estimate annual escapement and characterize age and sex composition and spawning success of adult fall-run Chinook Salmon on the mainstem Klamath River. These estimations guide decisions for water management as well as fishing regulations. </div></div>
