Samples were collected from newly exposed road cuts at the Shennongding, Tiechanghe, and Guanmenshan sections in Hubei Province, South China, as well as the Yuanjiagou section in Liaoning Province, North China. A total of 84 carbonate samples were collected from the Luanshigou, Dawokeng, Kuangshishan, Taizi, Yemahe, Wenshuihe, and Shicaohe formations in the Shennongjia Group, along with 67 carbonate samples from the Nanguanling and Ganjingzi formations in the Wuhangshan Group, and subsequently analyzed. Additionally, two compiled datasets provide information on Ce anomalies in carbonate rocks and the species richness of microfossils and macrofossils during the mid-Proterozoic. Table S1 presents rare earth element and carbon-oxygen isotope data from the Shennongjia Group and the Wuhangshan Group. Table S2 provides a compiled dataset of carbonate Ce anomalies spanning from 1800 Ma to 700 Ma. Table S3 provides a compiled dataset of microfossils and macrofossils spanning from 1800 Ma to 700 Ma.

本次研究样品采自中国华南湖北省神农顶、铁厂河、关门山剖面以及中国华北辽宁省元家沟剖面的新近出露路堑中。共采集得到84件碳酸盐岩样品(carbonate samples),分别采自神农架群栾石沟组、大窝坑组、矿山山组、太子组、野马河组、文水河组及石槽河组,另有67件碳酸盐岩样品采自武家山群南关岭组与甘井子组,随后对上述样品开展了分析测试。此外,另有两套汇编数据集提供了中元古代碳酸盐岩铈异常(Ce anomaly)以及微化石(microfossils)与宏化石(macrofossils)的物种丰富度相关信息。附表S1列出了神农架群与武家山群的稀土元素(rare earth element)与碳氧同位素(carbon-oxygen isotope)数据;附表S2提供了一套涵盖1800 Ma至700 Ma的碳酸盐岩铈异常汇编数据集;附表S3提供了一套涵盖1800 Ma至700 Ma的微化石与宏化石汇编数据集。
