台北植物園蝶類相及族群變化

本研究在瞭解台北植物園之蝶相，並嘗試探討園中植物變化和經營管理方式對蝶相及其族群的影響。1989及1999年每月以穿越線調查法在台北植物園調查蝶類之種類和數量。1989年紀錄了7科47種1411隻次的蝶類，1999年紀錄了7科60種2221隻次，另檢查及鑑定1945年至1988年林業試驗所昆蟲標本館中採自植物園之蝶類標本共7科41種。台北植物園自1996年起其經營管理有很大變化，增設了許多主題展示區，增加的植物種類近600種，其中不少是蝶類的食草或蜜源植物，增加了蝶類族群數量和多樣性。但對蝶類造成負面影響的有除草的次數及竹區的改變，造成取食禾本科及竹類植物的單帶?蝶類和玉帶蔭蝶的數量驟降。由本研究的結果可以看出園區植物的改變與蝴蝶的種類和族群數量關係密切，並可作為棲地經營管理與物種保育的參考。

This study aims to investigate the butterfly fauna of the Taipei Botanical Garden (TBG), and explore the impacts of vegetation changes and management practices on the butterfly fauna and their populations. Butterfly species and abundance were surveyed monthly at TBG using the line-transect method in 1989 and 1999. In 1989, 1,411 individual butterfly encounters belonging to 47 species across 7 families were recorded; in 1999, this number rose to 2,221 individual encounters belonging to 60 species across 7 families. Additionally, butterfly specimens collected from TBG between 1945 and 1988 and stored in the Insect Collection of the Forestry Research Institute were examined and identified, yielding 41 species across 7 families. Since 1996, TBG has undergone significant management alterations: multiple themed exhibition zones were established, and approximately 600 new plant species were introduced. Many of these newly added plants serve as larval host plants or nectar sources for butterflies, which contributed to increases in both butterfly population abundance and diversity. However, increased weeding frequency and changes to the bamboo grove areas exerted negative impacts on butterflies: populations of the single-banded butterfly and the white-banded bush brown butterfly, which feed on Poaceae and bamboo plants, experienced sharp declines. The results of this study reveal a strong correlation between vegetation changes within the garden and butterfly species composition and population sizes, providing valuable references for habitat management and species conservation efforts.
