Physico-chemical conditions of the seawater.

Seawater was collected at the chlorophyll maximum (10 and 38 m respectively for I1 and I2); at 502 m (I1) and 508 m (I2); at 1,002 m (I1) and 1,010 m (I2); and at 4,757 m (I1) and 4,831 m (I2) for shipboard incubations with E. huxleyi strains CCMP 88E (CCMP378) (I1) and NZEH (PLY M219, CAWPO6) (I2). SW = seawater. t0 = beginning of the experiment; tn = t72, 72 hours after the start of the experiment.

为开展艾氏海球菌（E. huxleyi）菌株CCMP 88E（CCMP378，对应I1组）与NZEH（PLY M219、CAWPO6，对应I2组）的船基培养实验，分别于叶绿素最大值层（I1组与I2组对应水深分别为10 m与38 m）、502 m（I1组）与508 m（I2组）、1002 m（I1组）与1010 m（I2组），以及4757 m（I1组）与4831 m（I2组）处采集海水。其中SW指代海水；t0代表实验起始时刻；tn即t72，指实验启动72小时后的时刻。
