Identification of Moraxella in a clinical sample

The aim of this study was to identify the infectious agent isolated from a blood sample collected from a 62-years-old male patient with a past medical history of severe psychiatric and neurologic disorders, who presented with fever and non-specific complaints to the hospital. A multitude of assays and strategies were applied, including growth on agar plates, MALDI-TOF and various genomic-based indications derived from the genome sequence of the isolated agent.

本研究旨在对一名62岁男性患者血液样本中分离得到的感染性病原体进行鉴定：该患者既往存在严重精神及神经系统疾病病史，因发热伴非特异性临床主诉前往医院就诊。本研究采用了多种检测手段与实验策略，涵盖琼脂平板培养、基质辅助激光解吸电离飞行时间质谱（MALDI-TOF），以及基于该分离株基因组序列的各类基因组学分析指标。
