SJC: Public Attitudes and Perceptions - Personal and State Security, June 2022

The main objective of this study was to explore the attitudes and perceptions of the population to understand how well-informed people are about the state security system, how protected they feel, and what they know about the security of other groups in society. The 2022 SJC survey in Georgia explored public perceptions of personal and national security, including concerns about crime, war, disinformation, and ecological threats. It also assessed trust in state security institutions, their perceived independence and effectiveness, and views on the broader meaning of security. Population: Adult population (18 years old and over), excluding the populations living in territories affected by military conflict (South Ossetia and Abkhazia). Besides nationwide, data is representative of Tbilisi, large urban, small urban, rural areas of Georgia and minority settlements. Sample Design: Multi-stage cluster sampling with preliminary stratification. Sample Size: 2,544 respondents. Response rate: 30.5% Survey mode: Computer-assisted personal interview (CAPI). Interview languages: Georgian, Armenian and Azerbaijani. Fieldwork Dates: May 27, 2022 to July 3, 2022. Results are weighted.
