The purpose of this survey, which is the Danish part of a Nordic project, is to map out and examine in which way the sexual division of housework in the families is reflected at places of work and in this way also to examine whether the sexual division of housework contributes to maintaining the sexual division of work on the labour market. The purpose is to examine whether places of work which are dominated by one of the sexes are influenced by the family tasks which are traditionally connected with that particular sex, i.e. whether places of work dominated by men are influenced by the need for the support of a family, and whether places of work dominated by women are influenced by the need to attend to practical and emotional tasks for the family. # If this could be confirmed it would have at least two consequences. First, it would prove that the correlation between working life and family life contributes to maintaining the sexual division on the labour market, and secondly, that the daily adjustments between working life and family life are made possible because the places of work are influenced by parenthood needs. # The results of the project showed that the above-mentioned theories were confirmed at all the places of work in the Nordic project
