MERRA2 derived time series of GB telecommunications infrastructure electricity load, using historical daily surface temperature

MERRA2 re-analysis data (1981-2023, 2m temperature) is used to calculate the daily electricity load of telecommunications infrastructure in GB, London, and North Scotland. The model has been trained on BT group plc data, 2016-2020, to investigate the extent of weather-variability in causing extreme demand events in heating- and cooling- driven infrastructure.

本研究采用MERRA2再分析数据（MERRA2 re-analysis data，1981年至2023年的2米气温资料），对英国、伦敦及北苏格兰地区的电信基础设施每日电力负荷进行测算。本模型基于2016年至2020年英国电信集团（BT Group plc）的数据开展训练，旨在探究天气变率引发供热及制冷驱动型基础设施出现极端用电需求事件的影响程度。
