This dataset is developed to understand the demand preferences for skin whitening products across various provinces, provide data support for full-chain enterprises in the industry to formulate production and sales strategies, and better deliver personalized products and services to customers, by collecting and analyzing relevant consumption data of provinces with skin whitening product transaction activities nationwide, and adopting measures such as increasing inventory for high-preference provinces and reducing inventory for low-preference provinces.
1. Data Collection: Gather relevant sales transaction data from provinces across the country that have skin whitening product consumption behaviors.
2. Data Processing: Classify and organize the collected data to facilitate subsequent analysis and utilization.
3. Algorithm Processing: Analyze the processed data using the following formulas:
- National average sales amount = Total national sales revenue / Total national sales volume
- Preference Index L of a province = (Total sales revenue of the province / National average sales amount) * (Total national sales volume / Total national sales revenue)
The term (Total national sales volume / Total national sales revenue) is a constant, which is used to standardize the algorithm to calculate demand based on the national average sales amount. The dataset is in a consolidated state, primarily aggregated by region rather than strictly following chronological order. Orders may involve bundling, group purchases, or promotional offers, and price differences of the same brand of skin whitening products across regions and different time periods are ignored. As a result, Total national sales revenue / Total national sales volume ≠ Total sales revenue of the province / Sales volume of the province, so the national average sales amount is adopted for standardized algorithm processing based on industry experience.
4. Data Classification, Grading and Reuse: Classify provinces based on the calculated preference index: provinces with L>5.0 are categorized as high-preference provinces, those with 1.0<L≤5.0 as medium-preference provinces, and those with L≤1.0 as low-preference provinces. Develop more precise production and marketing strategies according to the regional classification, such as increasing product distribution in high-preference provinces.
