This dataset evaluates the rationality of using the Customer Lifetime Value (LTV) model to assess enterprises' Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), based on the user value of newly activated toy-category users on the Douyin platform in Hubei Province. In brief, for new user acquisition, the total value a single user brings to the product over its entire lifecycle (LTV) must exceed the cost incurred to acquire this new user (CAC). Otherwise, the more users are acquired, the longer the payback period and the lower the average revenue. This evaluation dataset is applicable to all enterprises in the consumer goods industry, providing data support for their marketing policy formulation, promotional expense management, and other relevant business decisions. The LTV model is employed to evaluate the rationality of enterprises' CAC, with the following core formulas and definitions: 1. LT = (Number of new users + Number of 1-day retained users + Number of 2-day retained users + Number of 3-day retained users + Number of 4-day retained users + ... + Number of 14-day retained users) / Number of new users; 2. LTV = LT × ARPU; 3. Average Revenue = LTV / CAC. Where: - LT: Average user lifecycle; - LTV: User Lifetime Value; - ARPU: Average Revenue Per User; - CAC: Customer Acquisition Cost. The corresponding evaluation criteria are as follows: ① When LTV/CAC < 1: The more users are acquired, the more severe the losses will be, indicating failed commercial monetization with no clear monetization approach. ② When 1 ≤ LTV/CAC < 3: The product has a clear monetization approach, and customer acquisition can generate positive revenue with certain development space, but the conversion rate between revenue and cost is relatively low. ③ When 3 ≤ LTV/CAC < 5: The product has great development potential, and its business model is more easily recognized by the market. ④ When LTV/CAC ≥ 5: Market expansion is too conservative; to maintain this conversion rate, the enterprise overly controls customer acquisition costs, which is detrimental to market expansion, and more investment should be allocated.
