Trypanosoma equiperdum is the causative agent of dourine, a sexually-transmitted infection of horses and the only trypanosomiasis not transmitted by an insect vector. We herein report the genome sequence of T. equiperdum strain OVI, isolated from a horse in South-Africa in 1976.

马媾疫锥虫（Trypanosoma equiperdum）是马媾疫（dourine）的致病原，该疾病为马的性传播感染，同时也是唯一一种不通过昆虫媒介传播的锥虫病。本研究报道了1976年于南非分离自一匹马的马媾疫锥虫OVI株的基因组序列。
