Influence of herbivory on extramatrical mycelia

We measured extramatrical mycelial (EMM) biomass during one growing season in 16-year old herbivore exclosures and unenclosed control plots (ambient), at three mountain birch forest and two shrub heath sites, in the Scandes forest-tundra ecotone. We also used high-throughput amplicon sequencing for taxonomic identification to investigate differences in fungal species composition.

本研究于斯堪的纳维亚森林-苔原交错带的3处山地桦木林与2处灌丛生境样点中，在一个生长季内对已建立16年的草食动物排除区，以及未设置围栏的自然对照样地中的外生菌丝体（extramatrical mycelial, EMM）生物量进行了测定；同时采用高通量扩增子测序开展分类学鉴定，以探究真菌物种组成的差异。
