The tree measurements of forest plots were conducted in July–August 2003 and July–August 2007 by technical personnel from the Gansu Provincial Academy of Water-Conserving Forest Research and the Cold and Arid Regions Environmental and Engineering Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences. A total of 17 permanent forest plots were surveyed, with the survey contents including plot factor investigation and individual tree measurement.
