Gut MAGs Dataset

This study generated a high-quality metagenome-assembled genome (MAG) catalog from the gut microbiomes of 40 HIV-infected individuals and 17 healthy controls in Shenzhen, China. Utilizing deep shotgun metagenomic sequencing and rigorous MAG reconstruction (including quality control, assembly, binning, refinement, and dereplication), we aim to systematically characterize compositional and functional alterations of the gut microbiota in people living with HIV (PLWH). This dataset provides a crucial resource to uncover microbial signatures linked to chronic HIV infection and identify candidate taxa for potential therapeutic interventions, addressing a critical gap in current microbiome research in PLWH.

本研究从中国深圳的40名HIV感染者与17名健康对照的肠道微生物组中，构建了一套高质量的宏基因组组装基因组（metagenome-assembled genome, MAG）目录。本研究采用深度鸟枪法宏基因组测序技术，并通过严格的MAG重建流程（包含质量控制、序列组装、分箱、精修与去重复步骤），旨在系统解析人类免疫缺陷病毒感染者（people living with HIV, PLWH）的肠道微生物组组成与功能特征变化。本数据集可为揭示与慢性HIV感染相关的微生物特征、筛选潜在治疗干预的候选微生物类群提供关键资源，填补了当前HIV感染者肠道微生物组研究领域的重要空白。
