Metagenomic data was generated form several hypersaline lakes in southeast Australia, sampled during the austral summer of 2018-2019. Metagenomic data was used in the study "Revisiting evolutionary trajectories and the organization of the Pleolipoviridae family" by Alarcón-Schumacher et. al.
