CTD data salinity, temperature, depth for Cruise DP02 R/V Point Sur in-situ deep seawater and associated fauna, 2015-08-09 - 2015-08-21, Viosca Knoll Gulf of Mexico

Deep water sampling of in-situ seawater and associated fauna (cruise DP02, 2015-08-08 - 2015-08-22) aboard the R/V Point Sur for an area encompassing roughly 28°N to 29°N and 87.5°W to 88.5°W. Data were collected 2015-08-09 - 2015-08-21 aboard R/V Point Sur cruise PS16-06, cruise DOI https://doi.org/10.7284/909375. Submitted data in this dataset are the salinity, temperature and depth data from the ship's CTD, which is deployed at each of the DEEPEND stations. Depth of cast is variable, but extends from near-surface waters to below the euphotic zone. This data is used in the assessment of the water column's vertical structure, and for comparison with physical models.
