Annual growth of urban population in Africa 2023, by region

In 2023, Africa's urban population grew by 3.5 percent compared to the previous year. East Africa experienced the highest increase, with urban households growing by 4.5 percent. On the other hand, North Africa recorded the lowest growth rate, as it was the most urbanized region on the continent.
