This dataset provides a comprehensive record of marine heatwave (MHW) events over a 42-year period (1982–2023) based on daily satellite reprocessed observations with a 0.02° × 0.02° spatial resolution. It includes key event-based metrics such as mean intensity, duration, maximum area, and an event index, aiding in the analysis of seasonal and interannual variability in MHW occurrence.The dataset consists of:189 MHW events stored in a NetCDF file.A supplementary file containing the climatology and the 90th percentile of climatology.An Excel file listing the start and end dates of each event.This dataset is valuable for understanding marine heatwave dynamics and can be used in climate studies, ocean modeling, and environmental impact assessments.
