Acorn mast data (1995-2023), Black Rock Forest, Cornwall, NY

Acorn abundance has been tracked annually since 1995 at Black Rock Forest (BRF), Cornwall, NY between September and October to coincide with peak acorn drop. From 1995 to 2010 all acorns were counted within a circular plot thrown 10 times at 15 to 20 locations throughout BRF. Beginning in 2004 individual oak trees were visited and DBH and number of acorns under the drip line of the tree were counted at the same 15 to 20 locations within BRF.

自1995年起，研究人员便在纽约州康沃尔市的黑石森林（Black Rock Forest, BRF）内开展橡子丰度年度监测，监测时段固定为每年9月至10月，以匹配橡子脱落的峰值阶段。1995年至2010年间，研究人员在BRF全境的15至20个采样点位，于每个点位布设圆形样地并开展10次计数，统计样地内所有橡子的数量。自2004年起，监测方案进行优化调整：在上述同一批15至20个采样点位中，对单株橡树开展实地调查，记录树木胸径（Diameter at Breast Height, DBH），并统计该树木树冠滴水线范围内的橡子总数。
