Extremely halophilic archaeon isolated from the Antarctic

Halorubrum lacusprofundi ATCC 49239. Formerly Halobacterium lacusprofundi, this organism is an extremely halophilic archaeon isolated from Deep Lake, Antarctica. This organism will be used for comparative genomics with other extreme halophiles.
