此2006年中期人口统计数据集包含在2006年居于204个小规划统计区（小合并组）的香港人口有关人口、住户、教育、经济、房屋及内部迁移特征的统计数字。此数据集亦包含各小规划统计区（小合并组）的分界。自1961年起，香港每10年进行一次人口普查，并在两次人口普查之间进行一次中期人口统计。2006年中期人口统计于2006年7月至8月期间进行，提供了香港人口的社会和经济特征的基准统计数字。这些数字对政府在规划和制定政策尤为重要。这个数据集将被纳入人口分布框架空间数据主题集。

This 2006 Population By-census dataset contains statistics covering the demographic, household, education, economic, housing and internal migration characteristics of the Hong Kong population residing in 204 Small Planning Statistics Areas (small combined groups) in 2006. This dataset also provides the boundary demarcations of each Small Planning Statistics Area (small combined group). Since 1961, Hong Kong has conducted a Population Census every decade, with a Population By-census carried out between each pair of consecutive Censuses. The 2006 Population By-census was conducted between July and August 2006, delivering benchmark statistics on the social and economic characteristics of the Hong Kong population. These statistics are particularly vital for government planning and policy formulation. This dataset will be incorporated into the spatial data thematic dataset under the population distribution framework.
