This data represents 454 RNA sequencing information from chickpea (Cicer arietinum variety; P-362) leaves before and after mechanical wounding. Leaves of eight week old plants were rapidly wounded with forceps to cover the entire leaf area. Leaves were kept for 5 minutes or 20 minutes, frozen in liquid nitrogen and RNA isolated. cDNA was prepared from these samples as well as those from unwounded samples (0 min). Sequencing was performed on a GS FLX pyrosequencer (Roche Life Sciences, USA). The total data output of sequencing run yielded 53.6 Mb, 34.4 Mb and 17.9 Mb for the unwounded control (C), 5 minute wounded and 20 minute wounded sample respectively, corresponding to a total 106 Mb data. The contigs produced by assembler were 4388 (C), 2886 (5 min), and 1683 (20 min) in number with average read lengths of 526 (C), 482 (5 min) and 470 (20 min).

本数据集涵盖来自鹰嘴豆(Cicer arietinum,品种P-362)八周龄植株叶片在机械损伤前后的454 RNA测序数据。实验中,选取八周龄植株的叶片,使用镊子快速对整片叶片区域施加机械损伤;将损伤后的叶片分别静置5分钟或20分钟后,置于液氮中速冻并提取总RNA,同时以未损伤的叶片样品(0分钟组)作为对照,从所有上述样品中制备互补脱氧核糖核酸(cDNA)。测序工作采用GS FLX焦磷酸测序仪(Roche Life Sciences,美国)完成。本次测序运行的总数据产出量分别为:未损伤对照组(C)53.6 Mb、5分钟损伤组34.4 Mb、20分钟损伤组17.9 Mb,总数据量合计106 Mb。经组装软件拼接得到的重叠群数量分别为:对照组4388个、5分钟损伤组2886个、20分钟损伤组1683个;各组的平均读长分别为526(对照组)、482(5分钟损伤组)与470(20分钟损伤组)。
