Data and code supporting a comparative genomic study of TLR21 loss across the three parrot superfamilies: Psittacoidea, Cacatuoidea and Strigopoidea. The study combines genome searches, raw-read analysis and comparative reconstruction of the gene’s surrounding region to distinguish physical deletions from assembly gaps. It also examines TLR21 sequence evolution and structural conservation in other birds. TLR21_parrots_repro_v1.zip contains analysis scripts, result tables, reports, locus sequences, selected supporting reads, figures and source-data accessions. Complete sequencing datasets and genome assemblies are available through the public accessions listed in ACCESSIONS.tsv and are not duplicated here. Code is released under the MIT licence; other original materials are released under CC BY 4.0, as described in LICENSE.txt. CpG_validation_complete_20261026.zip provides the separate supporting analysis of CpG composition in parrot-associated viruses and avian comparators, including scripts, data tables, validation results and figures. This analysis examines host-associated differences in viral sequence composition.
