Cast iron drinking water pipe biofilm community analysis

Microbial biofiolm samples were collected from a section of a full-scale >100-year-old chloraminated cast iron drinking water main. Illumina MiSeq was used to sequence the V4 hypervariable region of 16S rRNA genes in bacterial and archaeal communities. Blank/no template control and positive/mock community control samples were included (n = 26).
