Fungi are primary decomposers, but the impact of human-induced changes in temperature and nutrients on fungal communities and its consequences for wood microbial respiration are not well understood. Here, we combined field and laboratory experiments to examine how nutrient additions and temperature increases would affect the links between fungal communities and microbial respiration and its temperature dependence from decomposing angiosperm and gymnosperm woods.
