Endeavour North Current Meter Deployed 2012-06-19

The Nortek Aquadopp Current Meter AQD2806 was deployed on 2012-06-19 at Endeavour North. This north section of the Endeavour Hydrothermal Vents includes two moorings to monitor the regional circulation. This device is a Current Meter. Acoustic Current Meters (ACM) measure current speed and direction, using the Doppler Effect. Aquadopp current metres have a sensor head that contains 3 acoustic transducers, a tilt sensor, a temperature sensor and a pressure sensor. The instrument transmits a short pulse of sound, and then listens to its echo to measure the change in pitch or frequency. The change in pitch can determine the velocity of the current. It was deployed on a fixed platform. Data from this deployment were archived and made available through Ocean Networks Canada's Oceans 2.0 digital infrastructure, with quality assurance and derived data products following established practices.

诺泰克Nortek Aquadopp AQD2806型海流计（Current Meter）于2012年6月19日布放于恩德华北海域。恩德华热液喷口（Endeavour Hydrothermal Vents）的该北部区域设有两套锚系观测站，用于监测区域环流。该设备为海流计，声学海流计（Acoustic Current Meter, ACM）借助多普勒效应测量海流的流速与流向。Aquadopp系列海流计的传感器探头内置3个声学换能器、一个倾斜传感器、一个温度传感器以及一个压力传感器。该仪器会发射短脉冲声波，随后接收回波以测量音高（频率）的变化，通过该频率偏移量即可推算海流的流速。本次布放的设备搭载于固定平台之上。本次采集的数据已通过加拿大海洋网络（Ocean Networks Canada）的Oceans 2.0数字基础设施完成归档并对外开放，其数据质量管控及衍生数据产品均遵循既定行业规范生成。
